Privacy Policy

Your home and your pets are private — this policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the control you keep over your video, audio and account.

1. Who we are

Elarpet is a brand of Shenzhen Wuyouguoguo E-Commerce Co., Ltd. (深圳市无忧果果电子商务有限公司), the company responsible for the personal information described in this policy. We design and sell pet cameras, interactive play cameras and camera feeders, together with the companion app that brings them to life.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the Elarpet website at elarpet.net, to Elarpet cameras and camera feeders (including Elarpet Watch, Elarpet Play and Elarpet Feast), and to the Elarpet app for iOS and Android. It explains how we handle information when you browse our site, set up a device, watch a live stream, play with or feed your pet, or contact us for help.

It does not cover third-party products, stores or services that may link to or from Elarpet. When you buy through a marketplace or use another company's app, that company's own privacy practices apply to the data it collects.

3. Information we collect

We aim to collect only what we need to run your cameras well. Depending on how you use Elarpet, this can include:

Account information

When you create an Elarpet account, we collect your name (or nickname), email address and a password. Passwords are stored only in a hashed, non-reversible form — we never keep your password as plain text.

Device & connection information

To keep your cameras online and your app working, we process technical details such as the device model and serial number, firmware and app version, network and IP address, time zone, and the push-notification token for your phone. This information also helps us diagnose connection problems.

Video & audio from your camera

Elarpet cameras capture live video and two-way audio so you can see and talk to your pet. Live streams pass through our service so they can reach your phone wherever you are. Clips are recorded only when you enable recording, motion-triggered events or a manual capture.

Feeding & activity data

If you use feeding schedules, treat toss, laser play or activity alerts, we process the related settings and event history — for example, when a meal was dispensed, a treat was thrown or motion was detected — so the app can show you a timeline and send timely notifications.

Support messages

When you contact us, we keep the messages, contact details and any logs, screenshots or device information you choose to share, so we can investigate and reply.

Website information

Our marketing website is deliberately light on tracking. Your language preference is stored locally in your browser so the site shows the right language; we may also use basic, aggregated request information to keep the site secure and reliable.

4. How we use your information

  • Provide the core service — live viewing, two-way talk, recording, alerts, treat toss, laser play and feeding control.
  • Sync your cameras across the family members you have invited, each with their own access.
  • Deliver push notifications and in-app alerts you have asked for, such as motion, barking or low-food warnings.
  • Keep the service reliable and safe — monitoring uptime, preventing abuse and fixing bugs.
  • Respond to your support requests and improve our products and documentation.
  • Meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations and enforce our terms of use.

We rely on the appropriate legal grounds for this processing, including performing our contract with you, your consent (for example, for optional notifications), our legitimate interest in running a secure service, and compliance with the law.

5. Video, audio & encryption

The video and audio from your home are among the most sensitive things we handle, and we treat them that way.

  • Encrypted in transit. Live streams and recordings are encrypted while they travel between your camera, our service and your app, so they cannot be read in transit.
  • You decide who can watch. Only you and the family members you invite can view your cameras. You can revoke a person's access at any time.
  • Where recordings live. Clips are kept on the camera's microSD card and/or, if you choose, in optional encrypted cloud storage. You control which is enabled.
  • We never sell your footage. Your video and audio are yours. We do not sell them, and we do not use them to build advertising profiles.

6. Storage, retention & your control

You stay in charge of your recordings. From the app you can delete individual clips, clear your timeline, or delete your whole account and the personal data associated with it.

Footage stored on a microSD card stays on that card until it is overwritten or you erase it. Footage in optional cloud storage is kept for the retention window of your plan and is then deleted automatically. Account and support records are kept only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in a few limited, necessary cases:

  • Service providers who help us run Elarpet under contract — such as cloud hosting, push-notification delivery and basic analytics — and who may process data only on our instructions.
  • Legal and safety reasons when we are required to respond to a valid legal request, protect our rights, or prevent fraud or harm.
  • Business transfers — if our business is reorganised or acquired, information may transfer as part of that change, with this policy continuing to protect it.

8. Children's privacy

Elarpet is made for adults (18 and over) to watch over their own homes and pets. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at elarpet@elarpet.net and we will delete it.

9. International data transfers

Elarpet operates across more than one region, and your information may be processed in the regions where our services run, including outside your home country. Wherever your data is handled, we apply appropriate safeguards and the protections described in this policy.

10. How we keep information secure

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls that limit who on our team can reach data, and secure development practices for our apps and firmware. No system is perfectly secure, so you play an important part too:

  • Choose a strong, unique password and never reuse it on other sites.
  • Keep the Elarpet app and your camera firmware updated.
  • Only invite people you trust to view your cameras, and remove access you no longer need.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent you previously gave. Many of these — such as editing your profile or deleting clips and your account — can be done directly in the app.

To make any other request, email us at elarpet@elarpet.net. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first to protect your account.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our products and the law evolve. When we make material changes, we will post the new version here with an updated date and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Please review this page from time to time.
